12th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration

The Oakland Asian Cultural Center (OACC) hosted its 12th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration at the United Nations Plaza in San Francisco on Saturday, May 21st. OACC’s mission is build “vibrant communities through Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) arts and culture programs that foster intergenerational and cross-cultural dialogue, cultural identity, collaborations, and social justice.”

My publisher and bookseller, Eastwind Books of Berkeley (2066 University Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704) participated with its book booth and Meet the Author events. This was my first Asian Heritage Street Celebration. Although it was cold and windy, I enjoyed working with Eastwind’s employees and meeting people who stopped by the book. I was also excited to have Filipino food for lunch! Here are my photos from my day.
