It’s been a long time since I’ve posted – almost four years (gulp). My novel, A Village in the Fields, is 10 years old in September. I’ve been working on my second novel heading into year eight, and I’ve been either laser-focused or taking much-needed breaks as I push to try to finish it in the next year.
My oldest sister spent last Thanksgiving with friends in Fresno, which is about in the middle of the Central Valley or the San Joaquin Valley. The host introduced her to another guest, Tom Willey, a retired organic farmer from Madera who hosts a radio show called Down on the Farm. She told him about my novel, and he was interested in interviewing me. Fast-forward to April 2025, and David and I (plus our dog, Sammy) drove down to Fresno to record the interview on-site at 88.1 KFCF, Free Speech Radio for Central California.

Tom was very kind, inquisitive, and kept me on my toes with his questions about the Grape Strike, Filipino-American history, and my novel’s storyline. Our interview will air the first Friday of June. I’ll send out a reminder when that time comes, but it will also be available on the show’s website afterwards.

I hope I don’t take years in-between my next post, and I hope the next time to let you all know that I have finally finished my second novel. Until then, be well.
